My Current Bucket List

  • 19 down. 6 to go. After 2 years of lockdown, I am excited to put on a backpack larger than my body and listen to the sweet, sweet ASMR of my suitcase rolling down the tarmac.

  • Have I been zip lining? Yes (Mexico and Wisconsin). Have I been zip lining over a canopy of trees in a Costa Rican rain forest? No. I feel as if i’m going to find answers in between high-pitched screams and acres of green foliage.

  • I have a feeling there is something for me in Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. I think of this trip as a Target trip with no shopping list— they will tell me what I need and I will simply listen.

  • While this goal does not have a lot to do with traveling— I can’t help but wonder what city i’m going to long board in once I can. Kudos to my failed attempt at long boarding in Malibu (and shout out to my awkwardly shaped downhill driveway for the lessons). Hoping my longboard survived after having been left outside for two snow storms in the Northern Illinois climate…

  • Okay… this one might be coming true soon (i’m not going to spoil anything, so look out for the blog post).

  • To be honest, I don’ t think I am cool enough to get into a place like this… so catch me negotiating with a Chilean bouncer.

  • Yes, ALL. 3 down, 4 to go. I just want to hug a Koala in Australia and visit the Patagonia. Plus, 30 and flirty with some penguins in Antarctica? Count me in.

  • This, sadly, is not sponsored. I just want that creamy hardshell that I know is going to make my life so, so easy.

  • Okay, this one might be cheating because I had the privilege of dancing with a very nice man at a pub in Dublin in 2017. But, I want to do it again. There’s nothing like being serenaded by fiddles as an old man swings you around and attempts to teach you how to River Dance. Add this to your bucket list— you won’t regret it.

  • If there’s anything John M. Chu can do, it’s convince you to want to try various small dishes in a crowded street market (and direct a damn good movie).

  • Thailand— I know you have something for me, even if it is just a crab omelet and a bowl of Tom Yum soup.

  • At first, this was a “Roadtrip Down the Coast of Portugal” bucket list item— but I did that (humble brag). I’m looking forward to more time in the car surrounded by unimaginable beauty.
